Fans troll Derek Hough after misidentifying Tyler Cameron as ‘Dylan’ during ‘DWTS’ premiere

That’s live television for ya!

Derek Hough was hilariously called out by “Dancing With the Stars” fans online after he accidentally misidentified contestant Tyler Cameron as “Dylan” during Tuesday night’s Season 35 premiere.

“Dylan, you have this, like, Patrick Swayze aura about you, right? You’re cool, masculine, just effortless. It really is amazing, truly,” Hough said while giving Cameron feedback on his routine.

Viewers immediately took notice of the flub and took to social media to poke fun at the six-time Mirrorball champion-turned-judge.

“Did Derek call Tyler Dylan?! 🤣,” one fan shared, while another asked, “Am I the only one who heard Derek call Tyler Cameron Dylan🤣🤣.”

One viewer said the mixup had them “giggling so hard” as another more harshly questioned, “Can Derek get their names right, who’s Dylan??”

Another netizen appeared to have a theory behind why Hough had mixed up Cameron’s name, suggesting, “Bro Derek thinks Tyler Cameron is Dylan Efron from last year.”

Efron came in fourth place last season with his pro partner, Daniella Karagach, and was a fan-favorite contestant.

Hough has yet to address the viral moment.

Elsewhere during his critique, Hough told the “Bachelor Nation” alum he’ll be “fantastic” if he can marry his “presence” with “the technique, the frame and the posture” of the dance.

Ultimately, Cameron and partner Sharna Burgess received a 17/30 from the judges for their tango to Lenny Kravitz’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way.”

Bruno Tonioli said he was “very pleasantly surprised” by the routine because, as he noted of Cameron, “Look at him, he’s a tank.”

Despite “a few hiccups here or there,” Tonioli said the reality star has “so much potential.”

“I am beyond impressed. That was amazing,” Carrie Ann Inaba chimed in, calling Cameron’s first routine in the ballroom “really solid” and commending his “commanding presence.”

Inaba, however, drew boos from the audience when dinged Burgess for her foot coming off the floor, saying, “Lifts are still a thing.”

Cameron is one of eight male celebrity contestants who performed during “DWTS” Season 35’s two-night premiere.

“Premiere: Night One” saw all the male celebrities performing a No. 1 song from the year they were born.

Those celebrities included Cameron, Paralympian gold medalist Ezra Frech, Hanson singer Taylor Hanson, “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Conner Leavitt, Savannah Bananas star Jackson Olson, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” star Guillermo Rodriguez, “Glee” alum Harry Shum Jr. and comedian Connor Wood.

“Premiere: Night Two,” which will see the eight female celebrities dance to a chart-topper from their birth year, airs Wednesday night.

Those contestants are “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star Tatyana Ali, Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis, “Step Up” actress Jenna Dewan, Olympian gold medalist Amber Glenn, “The Traitors” star Maura Higgins, “Summer House” star Ciara Miller, “Love Thy Nader” star Sarah Jane Nader and “Save the Last Dance” actress Julia Styles.

Following this week’s two-night premiere event, new episodes of “DWTS” will air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, and streaming on Hulu the following day.
