Trump rages at Supreme Court in screed he fears will cost him ‘dearly for years to come’

President Donald Trump trashed the U.S. Supreme Court’s third ruling against his mail-in voting order.

The 80-year-old president accused the justices of political cowardice Tuesday morning in a 463-word Truth Social post after the court blocked a U.S. Postal Service rule that would have imposed new mail-in ballot verification requirements ahead of the November midterm elections.

“Republicans just got another bad decision from the United States Supreme Court, one that the Court System took forever to give,” Trump posted, “and then blamed it, in part, on no time left to implement a solution to our totally CORRUPT and out of control Mail-In voting ‘disaster,’ which is a laughing stock all over the World, and where we are the only country that has to endure such a Nation Destroying SCAM.”

He praised dissenting Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas as “legends both” but questioned the loyalty of the three justices he nominated to the court in his first term.

“Certain Justices are petrified of these crazed and depraved Democrats, and are totally unable to show the courage necessary to save our America,” Trump wrote, adding that “the Supreme Court has really let our Country down!”

The president also revived his criticism of two earlier rulings on his tariff policy, which he said would cost the country “Trillions and Trillions of Dollars,” and on birthright citizenship, which he called “a complete and total disaster” that has “already led to massive corruption with respect to ‘citizenship’ in our Country.”

Trump argued the court’s decisions have “set America back at least a hundred years” and predicted they “will go down, in a very negative way, in the annals of History.” He suggested the current justices no longer resemble the people he “interviewed to serve” on the bench, writing they are “merely a shell of their original selves.”

“It is not easy for me to write this criticism of the United States Supreme Court – it will likely cost me dearly for years to come – but I feel it my obligation and duty, as President, to do so for the America we love!” Trump wrote, closing with “God bless the U.S.A.”

The court upheld a lower court’s injunction blocking the Postal Service rule, agreeing the agency had likely exceeded its authority and that burdens on voters outweighed the government’s stated fraud concerns.
