The horror-comedy “Widow’s Bay” dominated the 78th Emmy Awards on Monday night, with Matthew Rhys winning a historic Emmys trifecta as the first person to win lead acting awards in the drama, comedy and limited series categories across a career.
Now that the Television Academy has spoken, what were your picks? Earlier, we asked readers to weigh in on nine categories, and more than 7,000 of you voted.
Rhys proved popular among readers, too, and they mostly aligned with the academy’s other picks. Still, they preferred “Hacks” over “Widow’s Bay” for best comedy and “The Beast in Me” over “DTF St. Louis” for best limited series.
But for best actress in a drama, 37 percent of readers picked Keri Russell for “The Diplomat” compared to 29 percent picking Emmy winner Rhea Seehorn for “Pluribus.”
