Everything Lady Gaga has said about parenthood before becoming a mom

They don’t call her “Mother Monster” for nothing!

Lady Gaga and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, are officially parents. Page Six exclusively confirmed Friday that the couple have welcomed their first child together.

The baby news comes as the “Born This Way” singer, 40, and Polansky, 42, were photographed with their bundle of joy on a walk Thursday in Northern California in photos obtained exclusively by Page Six.

For their stroll as a family of three, the new parents kept it casual as Gaga (real name: Stefanie Germanotta) played the doting mom by holding their newborn close to her her chest.

The pair — who have been engaged since March 2024 — have remained out of the spotlight in recent months, leading some of their friends to believe they may have eloped.

Reps did not respond to our request for comment.

Prior to the baby bombshell, the Grammy winner made a flurry of heavy-handed public hints that she and Polansky were ready to become parents.

Most recently, in November 2025, she told Rolling Stone, “Being a mom is the thing I want the most.”

Gaga also said Polansky was “gonna be a beautiful father” and that they both were “really excited” about starting a family together.

Prior to that, in October 2025, the “A Star Is Born” actress said during an appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” that motherhood would be her “next starring role.”

“I would like to do many things,” she said at the time. “All of these things are open. But, what I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”

Earlier that year, Gaga divulged during an appearance on “Good Morning America” in March 2025 that she asked Polansky if he wanted marriage and kids on their first date.

The Oscar winner said Polanksy responded in the affirmative. “And I said, ‘OK, great. Do you want some Champagne?’ And he goes, ‘Sure.’”

The “Poker Face” singer divulged that she’s “a family girl” who wants “marriage and kids more than anything.”

That same month, Gaga said in an interview with the New York Times in March 2025 that she’s “excited to be a mom,” while admitting that she “used to have a lot of apprehension about it.”

“The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing,” she told the publication.

“So the more that we can give them space to discover who they are on their own, that’s the thing that I believe in the most.”

Gaga also admitted that she’s sometimes “kind of at war” with herself as she was getting “ready to, hopefully, become a mom soon.”

“Like, today is wonderful, but the whole day has revolved around me,” she told the outlet.

“There’s an incredible amount of narcissism in this. How do I live a life where I’m passionate about my art while also making more space for other things?”

In comments to Access Hollywood that same month, Gaga gushed, “I really want to be a mom,” adding that motherhood is “the greatest vision” she’s had.

In January 2025, she mused about the possibility of starting a family with Polansky, to whom she became engaged in 2024.

“Family — it’s like the roots of the tree,” the “Bad Romance” songstress told Elle at the time. “They grow long, and sometimes they’re mangled, and sometimes they’re full of water, and sometimes they’re thirsty. Family is what makes you who you are, and it also defines your need for change.”

When asked what she’d want future children to understand about her “as an artist and also as a person as they grew up,” Gaga said, “I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them.”

She added that she “would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me.”

“Maybe other than that I just did my best,” she mused. “And tried to stay true to myself along the way.”

All the way back in 2020, Gaga was thinking ahead to the wonder of motherhood, telling InStyle at the time that she was looking forward to being a mom.

“Isn’t it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it,” she marveled of childbirth. “Then it comes out, and it’s our job to keep it alive.”

The “American Horror Story” alum added, “It’s so funny, everyone works out of my house every day. When they come in, I always say, ‘Welcome to the Womb!’”

In a 2019 interview with Allure, Gaga reflected on her relationship with her own mother, Cynthia Germanotta, and how she hoped she’d have a similar connection with future children.

“I really hope that when I have maybe a little girl one day, or a little boy, and they see Mommy put her makeup on, that they have the same experience that I did,” she gushed. “That’s the greatest gift of all, when you can connect with your parents.”
