Dolly Parton’s sister puts country stars on blast for not sending condolences after singer’s death

Dolly Parton’s sister Stella Parton hasn’t heard from any of her fellow country singers in the two weeks since her sibling’s death.

“I haven’t had one condolence from anyone — anybody that I know, entertainers that I know,” the 77-year-old said during a “CBS Mornings” interview, which aired in full Thursday. “Nobody. Not one.

The Nashville-based musician doubled down, insisting she hasn’t “heard from anybody in” the area since Dolly’s passing at 80 on Aug. 25.

“I’m assuming it might be because of my political, you know, activism on social media,” Stella speculated. “I don’t know.”

She did not specify which specific artists she was referring to.

Stella, notably, tweeted a rant opposing President Donald Trump days before Dolly lost her cancer battle.

Meanwhile, Dolly was known for remaining politically neutral — which Stella dubbed the decision of a “good businesswoman.”

As for whether she and Dolly shared the same political beliefs, Stella played coy.

“I will not talk about that,” she told Gayle King during the sitdown. “You think you’re so clever, don’t you?”

Dolly defended being tight-lipped about her views on multiple occasions over the years, including a chat with Fox News in October 2017.

“I don’t voice my political opinions,” she declared at the time. “I just get out there and entertain. To me, that’s what I do.”

She clarified that she did not “condemn” Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin for blasting Trump, 80, when they presented an award with her at the Emmys the previous month.

After the actresses dubbed the politician a “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot” onstage, Dolly cracked a joke about the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie category — and her breast augmentation.

She pointed to her chest and said, “Well, I know about support.”

In her subsequent Fox news interview, the “9 to 5” hitmaker quipped, “When all else fails, do a boob joke.”

Dolly reflected on the incident again in 2019, saying, “I want to be my own individual self. If I’ve got something to say, I’ll say it, but I don’t want to be dragged into it.”

That same year, she explained to The Guardian, “I’ve got as many Republican friends as I’ve got Democrat friends, and I just don’t like voicing my opinion on things.”

Since Dolly’s shocking passing — after health struggles she hid from family members and fans alike — the actress has been honored with a Grand Ole Opry tribute, as well as a moving nod from Buckingham Palace, not to mention a slew of celebrity social media posts.
