‘Stressed’ Kim Zolciak and ‘somber’ Kroy Biermann spotted ahead of son KJ’s bond hearing in sexual battery case

Kim Zolciak, 48, looked stressed and rushed, while Kroy Biermann, 40, appeared “devastated” and “somber,” as the estranged couple were spotted ahead of their son KJ Biermann’s bond hearing Friday.

An eyewitness exclusively told Page Six that the reality star, seen arriving and leaving her home Thursday, was “walking at a hurried pace” and seemed “hectic and scattered,” while the former NFL player, spotted driving back to his home Wednesday, looked visibly weighed down by the gravity of the hearing.

“Kroy just looked devastated. You could see it in his eyes. He seemed to be in a very somber mood,” the eyewitness said.

“It is what you would expect with the week they’re having and the stakes if KJ doesn’t get bonded out of jail,” the source added.

KJ, 15, has been held at Atlanta’s Metro Regional Youth Detention Center since his Aug. 17 arrest on felony aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery charges.

His bond hearing is scheduled for Friday, after a previously scheduled court appearance was cancelled following his indictment on seven felony counts: aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a child under 16 and false imprisonment.

His attorney, Jason Sheffield, has argued that the severity of the charges has effectively stripped KJ of protections typically afforded to juveniles, saying it is “difficult to comprehend” that a 14- or 15-year-old could be held for a month or longer while waiting for a bond hearing.

Sheffield has also maintained that KJ is innocent and said the defense plans to seek a transfer of the case to juvenile court, as prosecutors pursue trying the teenager as an adult.

KJ’s arrest stems from an alleged incident at a Life Time fitness center in Alpharetta, Georgia, on April 23, involving a female classmate.

Per court docs obtained by Page Six, the classmate claimed to officials that KJ allegedly forced himself on her despite her saying no, and attempted “multiple times to have sexual intercourse with her by trying to pull down her pants.”

The teenager has maintained his innocence, and has begged to be released from jail, citing good character, strong academics, football achievements and scholarship offers.

A rep for Zolciak told Page Six that  “He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged.”

Thus far, Kroy has not commented on his son’s arrest or alleged crimes.

KJ is due back in court Friday for his bond hearing.

Sheffield has said he expects the teenager to plead not guilty at his Oct. 14 arraignment.

If convicted, former prosecutor and sexual assault case expert Lindsay Richards, who is not involved in the case, told Page Six that KJ could face decades behind bars given the “unbelievably serious” charges.
