Country star admits to being drunk at concert she wishes she’d cancelled: ‘I over-served myself’

Carly Pearce divulged she’s never cancelled a show — but admitted there was one she “should have.”

“I know exactly the show,” said during a recent game of Entertainment Tonight’s “Sip or Spill.”

“If you were at my show on the 29 Tour a few years ago in D.C., I over-served myself, and I was like, ‘Uh oh, this is not good.’ But I made it.”

Though the country star, 36, didn’t specify exactly which show it was, she did perform a 29 Tour concert at The Hamilton in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 20, 2021.

The Grammy-winning musician also revealed the song she wishes she’d never released — “Finish Your Sentences’” with her now ex-husband Michael Ray.

She quipped of the track from her 2020 eponymous sophomore album, “That didn’t age well.”

Pearce and Ray divorced that same year, in June 2020, after just eight months of marriage. She later called the brief marriage “a very big mistake.”

The country singer went on to date Riley King for two years before splitting up in 2023, with King telling Page Six at the time that he wished her “nothing but the best in both her career and personal life.”

During her interview with ET, Pearce also confessed to having been on a disastrous date with someone who’d overindulged in alcohol — though she didn’t divulge the person’s name.

“I once went on a date with a guy who got so blackout drunk that I had to drive him home, and when it was ‘time to kiss me,’ he pretended to have a phone call,” she told the outlet.

“But I could see his lock screen — where there was no call.”

Pearce added, “Just tell me you don’t want to kiss me. I don’t want to kiss you either.”

The songstress recently released her fifth studio album, “Honest Woman,” on Aug. 28. Beginning Sept. 10, she’s set to perform for fans in smaller venues in an effort to make a deeper connection with fans.

“I feel like this album is so special to me,” Pearce told ET.  “And my connection with fans has become quite honestly at times bigger than you know, a live setting.”

She added, “They just want to talk to me. And so having that experience to be able to be up close with them is going to be really fun.”
