Shailene Woodley allegedly asked to sleep with someone else after accepting Aaron Rodgers’ proposal, the NFL player claimed in a scathing new interview.
The 42-year-old athlete reflected on their December 2020 engagement during Thursday’s “Not Just Football” podcast episode, acknowledging the actress may have “felt like she was forced to make a decision” but “could have said no.”
He alleged, “She said yes. … A couple days after that she tells me, ‘Before we get married I gotta go f–k this guy.’”

Rodgers, who did not specify who Woodley was allegedly referring to, claimed the Emmy winner “took off the ring” by March 2021.
“We had a couple of times where we tried to get reunited and nothing ever happened,” the quarterback said. “There wasn’t even a relationship in 2022 to break off. She literally told me, ‘I don’t want to be with you,’ after we tried some reconciliation in 2021.”
He railed against the “Fault In Our Stars” actress — and his other exes — bashing him in interviews over the years because he’s “a lightning rod” who will “get [them] clicks.”
Rodgers demanded, “Move on with your life. Don’t mention me.”

“Shai, you left me, you took the ring off,” he continued. “Her story is that I ruined her life and gave her crazy depression because I left her. … What are we talking about regarding me ruining your life?”
Woodley’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Rodgers’ claims.
The Pittsburgh Steelers star’s comments appeared to refer to Woodley’s 2024 interview with Outside magazine during which she said her relationship with Rodgers was “not right” — and discussed a “really awful, traumatic” unspecified incident in early 2022.
“I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy,” she said. “I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment. I knew I was depressed when I looked at a tree and felt nothing.”
The “Big Little Lies” actress, 34, dubbed this era “the lowest low of [her] life.”

In 2024, Woodley also spoke to Bustle about falling in love “over and over with unavailability” — but no longer being “interested” in people who “cross” or “disrespect” her.
She called the split the “darkest, hardest time of [her] life” in a Net-a-Porter sitdown in January 2023.
“My personal life was s–tty, so it felt like a big pain bubble for eight months,” Woodley recalled.
News broke in February 2021 that the former couple had started dating the previous year, with their engagement making headlines days later.

The duo had called it quits by early 2022.
Woodley has not debuted a new romance since their breakup, while Rodgers is married to a mystery woman named Brittani.
He called his spouse “the one that got away” on Thursday, explaining that they first dated and split in 2017 before later reuniting.
