Apple just raised prices on new and older iPhones. Here’s what they cost now.

Apple announced new iPhones on Wednesday that come with heftier prices. Some older iPhones are also getting a price bump that defies the typical pattern, as gadget buyers continue to be hit with artificial intelligence-related inflation.

And the company did not announce a new base-level iPhone as it usually does each September, offering only three, exclusively high-end new iPhones this year.

The updated iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models start at $1,199 and $1,299, respectively, or $100 more than comparable 2025 models.

The third new iPhone is the debut of a premium phone that opens like a passport to offer more screen space. The iPhone Duo folding model starts at $1,999. One version with more storage costs $3,199.

Apple typically drops prices of older iPhones that it continues to sell when new models come out. This time it raised prices instead.

The year-old iPhone 17, which typically would have dropped by $100, instead went up by $100 to $899, Apple’s website showed.

New versions of Apple’s three less expensive models, including the base level iPhone 18, are expected early next year. Prices of one or all of those models will probably also increase, analysts forecast.

Makers of consumer electronics have been raising prices in the past year as a consequence of the AI boom, which is gobbling up computer chip supplies because of data center construction.

Apple raised prices of Mac computers and iPads in June. Analysts and some mobile carrier executives have said they expect fewer Americans to buy new smartphones as a result of higher prices.
