‘Not Skinny But Not Fat’ podcaster says her betting ad about Lindsay Clancy trial was ‘grossly inappropriate’ after backlash

“Not Skinny But Not Fat” host Amanda Hirsch profusely apologized after using the Lindsay Clancy trial in a betting advertisement.

Hirsch shared her apology in an Instagram post Sunday after receiving backlash.

“Posting about the Lindsay Clancy trial in the same breath as a brand partnership was completely insensitive, wrong, and out of character for me — I should have known better, and I feel sick that I didn’t see that in the moment,” she wrote.

Hirsch, 37, said that as a mom of two sons, the Clancy trial has “really affected” her.

Clancy is accused of strangling her three young kids before trying to take her own life and jumping from a window, leaving her paralyzed.

“I’ve been following it so closely, talking about it constantly, and feeling heartbroken over every part of it,” Hirsch wrote. “I became so consumed by the trial that I completely lost perspective and didn’t stop to think about how grossly inappropriate it was to discuss something this tragic in that context.”

She added, “I made a terrible judgment call and I feel so f—ing awful about that. I know deleting it doesn’t erase it.”

“Believe me, I’m horrified by the choice I made, and please know this lapse in judgment does not represent who I am as a person. I am so deeply sorry,” she concluded.

She turned off all comments on the post.

Hirsch has since deleted her ad for Polymarket — a platform where users can place bets on real-life outcomes in sports, awards, political races and more — which she posted after Clancy’s trial ended in a mistrial Friday.

“On Polymarket it was predicted the verdict would be Not Guilty. Are you surprised? #Polymarketpartner,” she wrote.

Fans criticized her, leaving comments on her TikTok post last month talking about how the Clancy trial has affected her given her experience as a mom. Hirsch said in the video that moms needs more support and appreciation.

“But in the meantime bet big kids!” one user sarcastically commented.

“Is this a poly market ad” another asked.

The Clancy trial has dominated headlines, with some fiercely supporting her. Her lawyer, Kevin Reddington, argued at trial that the former labor and delivery nurse shouldn’t be held criminally responsible because she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and hallucinated a voice telling her to carry out the killings and to kill herself.
