Katy Perry is opening up about her split from her ex-husband Orlando Bloom as she embraces her relationship with Justin Trudeau.
Perry, who parted ways with Bloom in June 2025 after nearly a decade together, told People in an interview published Wednesday that “last year was really hard” as she embarked on her “Lifetimes” tour.
The singer’s 6-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove — whom she shares with Bloom, 49 — joined her mom on the road during the tour. Perry, 41, told the outlet that Daisy was “seeing her mother in her purpose.”

“That’s good for her. She sees her mom being strong,” the “California Gurls” hitmaker said. “But also, not every day was easy.”
Perry launched her tour in April 2025. In July, reps for the former couple confirmed the end of their relationship in a joint statement to Page Six. Perry was in Australia at the time, per People.
“It was probably the hardest time. My friends were all hanging out back home. I was crying and just feeling far away,” the “Teenage Dream” vocalist said. “But then my angels went to work. They really showed up.”

Perry kept performing through the difficult period, saying she “learned how to step back into [her] purpose.”
“And I got the greatest gift from this tour: I got to meet the love of my life,” she added, referring to her now-boyfriend Justin Trudeau, the former Canadian prime minister, whom she said she met while on the road.
Perry and Trudeau, 54, were first linked romantically shortly after she and Bloom called it quits, when they were spotted having dinner together in Montreal, Canada.

The “Firework” songstress confirmed their relationship in October 2025 during a concert in Prague, Czech Republic, when a fan in the crowd asked her to marry him with a sign.
Perry responded, “No, I am dating someone else, for crying out f–king loud.”
Looking back on her relationship with Bloom, Perry told People that she “wouldn’t have stayed in something for nine years if there [weren’t] really important things to learn,” adding that “each relationship is a teacher.”

“I had to let it go so I could move forward.”
Perry said she had always wanted an “epic, legendary love” and had even discussed it with her therapist.
“Everything in my life is epic, but this is kind of the missing puzzle piece — then it showed up,” she said of her romance with Trudeau.

The pop star described her current relationship with Trudeau — who was previously spotted in the crowd during her tour — as “super healing.”
“He knows the words, he’s supportive and he’s in awe,” she said. “He is really heart-centered, and I think that we align in that way. I’m so grateful.”
Bloom, for his part, was most recently connected to Swiss model Luisa Laemmel, 28, after they were photographed together leaving the Super Bowl in February.
