Times Square stabbing is just the latest proof progressives are the enemies of public order

From innocents killed in broad daylight to the plague of homeless encampments to the violent crime that grips too many city neighborhoods, New York City has progressives to thank for its endemic disorder.

The Times Square stabbing maniac should not have been walking free: Court records and social-media posts sounded blaring alarms that she needed help . . . but progressives fight tooth and nail against involuntary commitment, no matter how many innocents like Erin Piacenti die.

Or innocents like the one recently killed in a McDonald’s off Times Square, or in the Penn Station stabbingrampage. And don’t get us started on the subway shovings.

Progs insist we can’t even force vagrants into shelters, and our mayor insists the NYPD move slow on encampments, which produces persistent shantytowns near the Intrepid and elsewhere.

Progressive pro-crime laws and a mayor passively aggressive against policing also leave most crime still well above 2019 levels; watch out when the progs finally manage to close Rikers.

Supposedly sane Democrats like Gov. Kathy Hochul refuse to fight against this madness, and instead enable the far left’s lunacy, even to shackling local law enforcement, because it seems their safest way to retain power and its perks.

And of course the state’s top law-enforcer, Attorney General Tish James, is herself a good progressive too busy with political vendettas and headline-hunting to even think of using her powers to battle lawlessness.

If New York voters want public safety and basic civil order protected, they need to look at ousting every prog and prog-enabler they can this November.
