Tiger Woods is set to appear in court Wednesday to change his plea in his DUI case from March, court records show.
The pro golfer, 50, had previously pleaded not guilty after he was charged with driving under the influence following his shocking rollover car crash in Jupiter Island, Florida.
Woods waived his arraignment and demanded a jury trial, per the court documents obtained by Page Six.
Following his scary crash, Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said during a press conference that Woods “showed signs of impairment” and “refused a urinalysis test.”
A police report obtained by Page Six revealed that “two white pills,” later “revealed to be hydrocodone,” were found inside Woods’ “left side pant pocket.”
Although Woods — who was said to be “sweating profusely” at the time — claimed he had not consumed any alcohol or illegal substances before the crash, the affidavit said that he admitted to taking “a few” prescription medications.
The father of two was ultimately handcuffed and taken into custody, at which point he was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.
In a statement, Woods — who was previously busted for a DUI in May 2017 after officers found him passed out behind the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz — said he understood “the seriousness of the situation.”
“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,” he shared on X at the time. “This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”
He also shared that he was “committed” to taking the necessary time he needs so he can “return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally.”
Woods went to rehab in Switzerland following the arrest, and left in June after nearly three months.
He made a rare public appearance last month in a pre-recorded video honoring golfer Notah Begay at Begay’s Payne Stewart Award ceremony. Many fans were shocked by Woods’ appearance at the time, taking to social media to weigh in on the athlete’s well-being.
“Tiger looks a shell of his former self,” one fan commented on X, while another observed that he “looked spaced out.”
Meanwhile, others defended him, with one comment reading, “Clearly sober here. Nice to see.”
