Tell Us How You Observe Yom Kippur

I am a reporter who writes about American Jewish life in all its permutations and manifestations. Yom Kippur, the traditional Jewish day of atonement, is one of the most widely observed Jewish holidays around the world, but what that means varies from person to person and community to community.

I’m hoping to learn more about how American Jews of all backgrounds and commitments experience Yom Kippur. I will read every response to this questionnaire and may reach out to you if I’d like to hear more about your story.

We won’t publish any part of your response without following up with you first, verifying your information and hearing back from you. And we won’t share your contact information outside The New York Times newsroom or use it for any reason other than to get in touch with you.
