This steamy 1999 retelling of “Dangerous Liaisons” is highlighted by its all-star cast, which includes Ryan Phillippe as a spoiled New York City teen who has the looks and charm to get any girl he wants, Sarah Michelle Gellar as his manipulative stepsister, and Reese Witherspoon as their latest target.

Filled with mind games and a great ’90s soundtrack, “Cruel Intentions” has since become a cult classic.

“Phantom Thread” (September 1)

Looking for another movie filled with mind games? Try this Paul Thomas Anderson gem.

After making the modern-day classic “There Will Be Blood” in 2007 with Daniel Day-Lewis, the auteur collaborated with the dedicated actor again for this 1950s-set drama that follows a dressmaker (Lewis) who meets his match when he falls for a young waitress (Vicky Krieps).

“Straight Outta Compton” (September 1)

One of the most iconic hip-hop bands of all time, N.W.A, gets the biopic treatment in “Straight Outta Compton,” which chronicles the group’s rise to becoming the first major hitmakers on the West Coast and the shady deals and infighting that led to the group’s collapse.

Highlights include O’Shea Jackson Jr. playing his father Ice Cube and Jason Mitchell as the group’s leader Eazy-E, whose life ended too soon due to AIDS.

“T2 Trainspotting” (September 1)

Two decades after the British indie “Trainspotting” became a sensation that made Ewan McGregor an overnight star, McGregor, director Danny Boyle, and the other stars from the original movie reunite for this impressive sequel that brings the group back to Edinburgh 20 years after Renton (McGregor) walked out on his friends with that bag of money.

Boyle sprinkles in footage from the original movie and casts the group as older but maybe not wiser to deliver an entertaining coda for these memorable characters.

“Untold: Raygun Breaking Badly” (September 1)
