Scott Wolf’s estranged wife, Kelley Wolf, is breaking her silence one year after suffering a heartbreaking mental health crisis.
After working with doctors, therapists and psychologists, the former “Real World” star took to Instagram Friday evening to reveal she was diagnosed with “breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis,” which she claimed was brought on by a combination of stress, past trauma, hormonal changes, hallucinogens and prescription medications.
“A perfect storm,” the 49-year-old called it.
Kelley said the episode made her feel as though her “brain had been hijacked” before issuing an apology to the “Party Of Five” star, 58, and others affected by her behavior.
“I am so sorry,” she wrote, adding that she put her estranged husband through a “nightmare that wouldn’t even fly in a movie script.”
Kelley also acknowledged that the things she publicly said and shared during the ordeal were not “based in truth or reality.”
“I have spent my life believing in love, hope kindness, and compassion,” she wrote. “What I became was the opposite. Cruel. Vicious. Mean.”
The apology comes more than a year after the former couple’s tumultuous split played out publicly.
Kelley announced in June 2025 that she and Scott were separating after 21 years of marriage.
Scott subsequently confirmed he had filed for divorce, calling it “the most difficult decision of my life.”
Days later, Kelley was placed on a psychiatric hold at a Utah hospital after a friend requested a wellness check.
In the weeks that followed, she posted a series of troubling messages and videos on social media, while Scott was granted a temporary restraining order and temporary custody of their three children.
Kelley was later arrested in August 2025 over alleged online harassment and doxxing of friends and family members.
The following month, she was admitted to a mental health facility again and placed on a court-ordered involuntary psychiatric hold for at least 60 days following an evaluation.
Kelley reflected on the tumultuous period in her statement Friday, admitting it took time for her to understand what had happened.
“Wow…I have taken about 100 deep breaths to write this,” she began. “How do I even start? It’s been a year since I recognized what everyone around me could see: I was not well, and I needed help.”
Despite their rocky split, Scott and Kelley appeared to be on better terms earlier this year when they reunited with their three children for a family outing at Universal Studios.
Scott later described 2025 as the “hardest year of my life,” but said he shared photos from the outing because he felt their family deserved for things not to remain in an “awful dark place.”
And it appears he is supporting Kelley as she publicly addresses what happened.
The “Doc” star responded to her emotional Instagram statement by leaving five red heart emojis in the comments section.
Scott and Kelley got married in 2004, and share sons Jackson and Miller and daughter Lucy.
