President Donald Trump’s dementia symptoms are showing in his late-night Truth Social postings and public appearances, a physical therapist who specializes in geriatric care warned Sunday.
According to an interview with Adam James, a licensed physical therapist, Trump’s late-night posts are signs of “sundowning,” a symptom of frontotemporal dementia (FTD) defined by evening agitation.
“As you approach the evening hours around dinner time, the sun goes down, a dementia patient becomes more agitated, more paranoid, and more difficult to deal with in general,” James, who specializes in working with geriatric patients, said. “We’re seeing that with the president right now. He posts, I mean, 50, 60, 100 times on Truth Social; the most random, unhinged slop, AI-generated videos.”
James noted that the posts seem to reflect agitation or paranoia, including a “horrible racist video of the Obamas at 11:30 p.m. at night.”
“That’s high time for a dementia patient to be just completely paranoid, and we know that he really hates Barack Obama,” he said.
However, James said it’s not the only sign of Trump’s dementia that he’s noticed. Trump’s “forward-leaning posture in the standing position, that’s actually a characteristic symptom of FTD,” James said.
“His posture was always weird in some instances, especially if you’ve got a microphone in front of him, but that is a characteristic symptom of FTD also.”
Trump also shows signs of confabulation, according to James, which is where the “frontotemporal dementia patient fills in holes in their memory with lies that they make up but that they 100 percent believe.”
James pointed out that Trump couldn’t seem to remember details about election denier Tina Peters. “Literally everything he said about Peters was false,” James said. “Everything, the reason that she was in jail, what she actually did … he said that Peters has cancer. She does not have cancer.”
Interviewer Dr. Steven Hassan, a mental health counselor, said what James was revealing was “really concerning,” but pointed out that Trump is also rumored to have a type of incontinence that entails “pooping in your diaper.”
James said that he read that Trump was incontinent during “The Apprentice,” and “they had a guy there for him that he nicknamed ‘wet wipes,’ who was only there to clean up incontinence episodes.”
