Thousands of Bonnie Tyler fans line the streets of Wales as late singer’s coffin is brought home

“Total Eclipse of the Heart” songstress Bonnie Tyler’s fans flooded the streets of Wales to bid the singer farewell as her coffin was brought home from Spain.

Thousands of mourners surrounded a hearse and threw flowers onto its hood while it slowly drove through a village in the United Kingdom on Saturday.

The driver had rolled down the back window to reveal the coffin — draped with a Welsh flag — and a photo of Tyler.

Fans swarmed the car, creating a driving path for it, and others left flowers outside of her home.

“She was always coming home and making sure that she came back to her fans in Wales,” a beloved fan told the Associated Press.

“Her songs really did touch a lot of people here in Wales; we loved her a lot.”

Tyler — born Gaynor Sullivan — died on July 8 at the age of 75.

The pop icon passed away at a hospital in Portugal due to an illness she was being treated for.

“We will issue a further statement shortly but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy,” her spokesperson announced in a statement at the time.

Tyler’s official cause of death has yet to be released, but she had been battling an illness since April when she went into emergency intestinal surgery in Faro, Portugal.

A day after the surgery, the “Holding Out for a Hero” singer was placed in a medically induced coma to assist in her recovery, Page Six previously reported.

“We are very sorry to announce that Bonnie has been admitted to hospital,” a statement shared on her social media sites read. “The surgery went well, and she is now recuperating.”

“We know that all of her family, friends, and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery,” the statement continued.

Tyler, who was scheduled to kick off her 2026 European tour in Malta on May 22, had previously raved about how fit she wasdespite a few health setbacks.

“I’m fit enough at the moment, touch wood, and I’m really enjoying doing the shows,” the three-time Grammy nominee told Hello! Magazine in March. “I’m still rocking on that stage with my wonderful band, and if you’ve got your health, you’ve got everything.

“I do home Pilates, only 20 minutes a day — it’s something I can do in my hotel rooms,” she explained. “I have had problems with my knees; I didn’t have new knees, I had what they call washouts [a surgical knee procedure], which turned out to be very successful. So, hopefully that will last for a long time.”
