President Donald Trump has been sporting what appears to be more voluminous hair in a slightly different color, prompting biographer Michael Wolff to explain the reason behind the change.
In an interview with the Daily Beast podcast Inside Trump’s Head, Wolff revealed Trump is essentially bald on top and has adopted a new styling approach to conceal further hair loss.
“Well, I can tell you what’s… under Donald Trump’s hair,” Wolff said, “Nothing. That’s actually what the top of Donald Trump’s head is like.”
According to Wolff, Ivanka Trump previously mocked her father’s elaborate hair maintenance to friends, describing how hair from the sides and front is drawn up to meet in the center, then swept back and secured with stiffening spray.
In conversation with host Joanna Coles, Wolff characterized the comb-over as “a very central component” of Trump’s identity and career, noting Trump’s background as a performer on a top-rated reality television show emphasizes the importance of appearance.
“It is about people looking at you. He understands that, as so many politicians, by the way, do not,” Wolff argued.
