Trump-backed candidate billing himself as a Kansas farmer lives in $2M estate: report

Republican Iowa governor nominee Zach Lahn, who has President Donald Trump’s endorsement and backing from Turning Point Action, has been living in a multimillion-dollar mansion in Kansas.

Despite advertising himself to voters as a farmer, a Daily Beast investigation revealed Lahn’s $2 million Kansas property sits on a large plot with a private lake, indoor pool, and amenities described as “a place on Earth that was closest to heaven.”

Lahn’s wife, Annie Lahn, is the ex-daughter-in-law of billionaire Republican donor Charles Koch.

The couple purchased the property in 2024 and transferred it to an LLC, likely to conceal ownership.

“Records reviewed by The Daily Beast indicate that he has never claimed any property in Iowa as his primary residence,” the Daily Beast wrote.

The outlet explained Lahn refinanced his great-grandmother’s farm in 2021, and added that he and his wife waived the Iowa Homestead Tax Credit. This, they consider, is “a sign that they do not consider the Iowa property to be their primary home.”

Flight records show Lahn regularly travels to campaign events via his personal plane, according to the Daily Mail.
