A furious attorney general who says acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has been stonewalling his Jeffrey Epstein investigation has filed suit against the Justice department, according to a new report.
New Mexico Democratic Attorney General Raúl Torrez filed his lawsuit Wednesday after nearly a month of publicly accusing Blanche of “causing real and escalating harm” to state lawmakers’ ongoing probe into Zorro Ranch, the Guardian reported.
Zorro Ranch is the sprawling compound alleged to be central to the disgraced financier’s disturbing plan to “seed the human race with his DNA.”
Now owned by millionaire businessman Don Huffines – a fierce ally to President Donald Trump – Epstein’s New Mexico compound is also alleged to be the burial site of “two foreign girls,” according to an FBI tip released this year by the DOJ.
Torrez had reached out to the DOJ nearly half-a-dozen times over a five-month period requesting original documents related to Zorro Ranch, but had not received a single response, The New York Times previously reported, potentially compromising New Mexico officials’ probe into the compound.
An apparently fed-up Torrez issued the DOJ a deadline of last Friday to comply with its requests. That deadline came and went without a response.
“The lawsuit, filed in the US district court for the district of Columbia, alleges that Blanche and his department had ‘stonewalled’ the state investigation that Torrez reopened in February after the 10,000-acre Zorro property was mentioned thousands of times in recent releases of the so-called Epstein files,” The Guardian’s report reads.
“Torrez said he wanted to establish what had taken place at Zorro, which unlike other properties prominent in Epstein’s sex-trafficking conspiracy in Palm Beach, New York, and his private Caribbean island, saw no confirmed federal search take place.”
Investigations into Zorro Ranch were underway back in 2019 before being abruptly shut down at the request of the Trump administration’s DOJ.
