Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. launched “The Real Food Show” on the Health and Human Services website Thursday, featuring celebrity chefs preparing meals and highlighting fermented foods, including sauerkraut and kimchi.
RFK Jr. told USA Today he has converted Trump administration officials, including Vice President JD Vance, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to a sauerkraut diet, claiming they all lost weight.
He described his cooking repertoire as “rudimentary,” listing eggs, bacon, cheeseburgers, and hamburgers, while noting his wife Cheryl Hines is the superior cook.
“I will literally eat anything because I don’t have a gag reflex,” Kennedy said, “I love experimenting with foods. When I travel, I’ll eat … street vendors’ cooking.”
Critics questioned the timing, noting Kennedy’s controversial history handling roadkill and his reported “checked out” approach to his job, showing up at 10 a.m. and leaving at 4 p.m.
The show’s launch has coincided with record-high measles cases and food-borne illness outbreaks under his watch, The New Republic reported.
