‘Seriously?’ Trump alarms niece with rally full of ‘fabricated victories’ and ‘lies’

President Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, scorched her uncle in her latest column, accusing Trump of trying to hide from his ever-mounting failures.

In particular, she took aim at Trump’s new event in Georgia to unveil his so-called “Trump Accounts,” an investment program for young kids meant to raise money for them over time.

The timing of that event, she said, “could not have been more revealing,” as new polls give rock-bottom approval of Trump’s handling on the economy. “Inflation remains elevated at roughly 3 percent, despite a modest decline last month that was driven largely by a temporary drop in gasoline and oil prices during the brief ceasefire with Iran. That respite did not last. Donald’s inability to secure a lasting agreement allowed the conflict to escalate once again, and the economic consequences have followed.”

Trump further used his event to attack his critics as “communists,” and reiterate the six-year-long lie that he won Georgia in 2020 and the election was stolen from him.

“Who is still buying this? Seriously, who?” Mary Trump, a psychologist and author, lamented.

Her uncle, she continued, “lies constantly” and has never done anything else, and yet “people continue listening to him recycle the same grievances, the same fabricated victories, and the same endless complaints about the press. Nearly two years after the election, he is still obsessing over how many votes he received. He remains incapable of moving beyond his own need for validation because, fundamentally, he cannot imagine a world in which he is not the center of it.”

Ultimately, she said, Trump’s efforts to lie about his failures and blame anyone and everyone else for the state of the economy perfectly encapsulate who he is.

“He demands credit for every positive development, regardless of whether he had anything to do with it. Yet every failure, every setback, every increase in costs, every broken promise, somehow belongs to someone else,” she concluded. “Leadership does not work that way. If you insist on taking all of the credit, then you also have to accept the blame.”
