Gas prices increased 13 cents over the past week, now at $4.11 a gallon.
Amid President Donald Trump’s escalating Iran conflict, CNN data analyst Harry Enten warned Republicans face serious political consequences.
And according to polling conducted Thursday, within 24 hours after the surge, approximately 65 percent of Americans say the war is not worth the resulting higher gas prices.
When asked which party bears blame for the increase, roughly two-thirds of Americans pointed to Republicans. Only 27 percent blamed Democrats.
Enten characterized the shift as historically significant, noting it represents a complete reversal from October 2024 when Trump held a six-point advantage over former Vice President Kamala Harris on inflation handling.
According to recent Fox News polling, Democrats now lead by 10 points on cost-of-living issues, one of the largest Democratic leads in Fox News polling history on this metric.
“This is just nutter butter,” Enten said, “This is movement that kills parties, that kills their electoral aspirations.”
