What a bum!
A buck-naked drifter aimlessly wandered around Times Square, drawing befuddled gasps from tourists and commuters heading to work Friday morning.
Video exclusively shot by The Post shows the apparently strung-out man wearing nothing but his birthday suit and a blank look on his face along West 42nd Street in The Crossroads of the World.
The nude excursion was even too much for the Naked Cowboy, an iconic Times Square street performer who — despite his moniker — wears shame-shielding skivvies in addition to his cowboy hat and guitar get-up.
“Not a good idea,” he said, explaining he learned about his unclothed unwitting competitor from a passerby.
The zonked-out nudist – who sported a tan line indicating he once wore since-misplaced shorts – ambled barefoot down a pedestrian plaza before sauntering in a circle back toward 42nd Street.
At one point, the unclad tramper squeezed himself – and his pearly white butt cheeks – between two shocked pedestrians.
Two Post journalists who spotted the denuded drifter told a cop about the balls-of-steel flaunting of societal norms through the most heavily trafficked part of New York City.
An NYPD spokesperson said the department didn’t yet have information on any arrest Friday afternoon.
Times Square visitors and peddlers were universally amused and bemused over the naked-but-not-afraid escapade.
“Live your life, man,” said Kai, 18. “You only live once.”
Brock, 21, who sat with a friend on a Times Square bench, reacted with pure disbelief after learning about the stripped-bare sojourner.
“Nah, you talking about the dude playing the guitar?” he said, before having to be told it was another libertine. “I ain’t seen that. I’m glad I didn’t see that.”
Ty, a 31-year-old enjoying the weather outside an American Eagle store, speculated the man had some chemical inspiration to go au naturel in the 85-degree heat.
“It’s too hot to be walking around butterball naked in the middle of the summertime,” he said.
“Damn. Drugs. Don’t do drugs. And if you do do them, be responsible.”
A woman handing out cards for a gun rental business smiled widely when she heard a different type of gunslinger hit the street that day.
“This f—ing city is amazing.”
