Trump-endorsed Senate candidate Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) has close ties to a social media influencer who has unapologetically shared white supremacist and neo-Nazi content, CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski and Em Steck reported on Thursday.
David Alan Scheer II, who is married to Collins’ daughter Summer, appears to be close to Collins in a number of ways, according to the report.
CNN reported that in addition to being at his father-in-law’s primary election night party, he “appears to have helped produce promotional work for Collins’ trucking company” and “is registered to vote at a Collins-owned property adjacent to the congressman’s large home in Georgia.”
The report revealed Scheer’s long history on social media includes promoting white supremacist group Patriot Front, which stormed Washington, D.C. on July 4 waving Confederate battle flags, saying that America can only be saved for white people by “clearing our land of other people,” and said Jews were behind “porn,” “killing JFK,” the 9/11 attacks, the murder of far-right TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk.
Scheer has also pushed conspiracy theories that deceased child trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was on the payroll of Mossad, Israel’s intelligence service, where he supposedly blackmailed U.S. politicians into backing policies for Israel over their own country, according to the report.
In addition to all of this, Scheer has posted a video implying European Jews had it coming with the Holocaust, CNN reported.
“Sixty million Christians that were killed by Jewish Bolsheviks in the early 1900s right before World War II,” he reportedly said. “They don’t tell us the history about Germany before World War II. All we’re told is, ‘Germany bad, Hitler evil, don’t ask questions, Holocaust, Holocaust, Holocaust, here’s 50 movies every year about the Holocaust and why it’s so bad.’”
Collins, who is challenging Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff, has repeatedly come under fire for pushing racist content himself, including sharing a video of Ole Miss students taunting a Black protester with monkey noises.
