Shouting match erupts as ‘white supremacist’ Jan. 6 rioter clashes with Black Republican

A debate erupted into a racial shouting match after white nationalist Jake Lang told Black conservative Austin Julio Broughton that “Black people are not assimilating into white culture.”

Lang, described as a “white supremacist” by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D-NY), is a Jan. 6 rioter charged with beating police officers with a baseball bat who was pardoned by President Donald Trump on his first day back in office.

Broughton is the Black conservative co-host of Jubilee Media’s “The Split.” The clash aired Thursday on Zee Cohen-Sanchez’s Unf— America Tour, a progressive debate platform.

Since Trump freed him, Lang has been on a nationwide hate tour that the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism documented as at least 19 public acts of hate against Muslims, Jews, and LGBTQ+ people.

He has burned Qurans, held up a severed pig’s head outside a mosque, and performed a Nazi salute outside the American Israel Public Affairs Committee headquarters while throwing chocolate coins and yelling about “Jewish money.”

At a Texas city council meeting in May, he pointed at a group of children of color and told the council, “Not one of them is a heritage American.”

“White people in America, you will be replaced, and your children will be Black Muslims if you don’t stand up now,” he told a crowd, echoing the Great Replacement conspiracy theory.

Just days before Thursday’s debate, Lang had protested the BET Awards in Los Angeles, carrying signs that read “Black culture = disgusting” and “Black parents are failures,” according to NewsOne.

“George Floyd! Black Lives Matter! Black Lives Matter!” Lang chanted mockingly on Thursday. “You guys had your own jazz clubs, own hotels, your own bus —”

“You know why we had to do that?” Broughton demanded.

“You had a beautiful country before the Democrats smushed you into us!” Lang insisted.

“We had to do that because people that looked like you said we weren’t good enough!” Broughton fired back. “Justice Taney has said that a Black man can build this nation, but he has no rights and a white man is bound to respect. Sick m—! Sick white peons that think the way that you think!”

“Because you dress nice like white people doesn’t mean you can play one,” Lang said.

“M—, what are you talking about? Like white people?” Broughton asked.

“Black people are not assimilating into white culture. And they’re not. You guys are violent!” Lang shouted.

“Why would we assimilate into a culture that killed us?” Broughton replied.

“This guy’s not a Republican! He’s a Black Lives Matter!” Lang yelled.
