President Donald Trump fired off at Fox News journalist Shannon Bream on Friday for apparently not defending his deportation record strongly enough, attacking her using a misspelled insult.
“The Average Daily Catch and Repatriation is, by far, the Highest under President Trump. No other president comes close,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
“So, when you hear these Anchors, Pundits, Dumocrats, and Communists, try to make the case that President [Barack] Obama’s numbers are comparable to President Trump, it would be nice if people like ‘Milk Toast’ Shannon Bream, and others, would put up a little fight – Just a little.”
Trump’s use of the phrase “milk toast” is likely a misspelling of “milquetoast,” an insult derived from the 1926 comic strip “The Timid Soul,” used to describe an individual as meek or timid.
Across Obama’s two terms, his administration deported around 3.1 million migrants, whereas Trump deported about 932,000 during his first term. Experts estimate the Trump administration has deported around 300,000 migrants during his second term as of January.
