Jeremy Allen White says goodbye to ‘The Bear’ after 5 seasons: ‘I’ve been really lucky’

Jeremy Allen White knows that playing Chef Carmie in “The Bear” has been a life-changing experience.

“For sure,” he told Page Six exclusively at the premiere for the show’s fifth and final season last week.

White noted that although he’s been working since he was a teen, appearing in “Law & Order” and playing Lip Gallagher in “Shameless” from 2011 to 2021, it’s “The Bear” that really set his career on fire.

“Things changed,” he shared, adding that the role allowed him to be selective.

“I got that gift, you know, very few actors are lucky enough to get, which is like, you get some choice, and you get some say-so and [get to decide] what you want to do and what you want your career to look like.”

“And I think ‘The Bear’ gave me that,” he explained.

The Emmy winner acknowledged that he’s fortunate to have been working pretty much non-stop since he nabbed his role in “Shameless” at age 18.

“I was really lucky to again have consistency and be able to grow with a character.”

Another thing the FX series has given White, 35, is some extra skills in the kitchen.

“I’m not saying I’m great,” he said modestly.

“But I’m definitely better. I do like a Sunday roast, a short rib in a Dutch oven that is really nice. I can make a really good steak and make a poivre that is really nice, yeah, like meat and potatoes kind of stuff.”

White was joined by his co-stars, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Matty Matheson, Liza Colon-Zayas and Lionel Boyce, for the red carpet event at Nine Orchard, which was dubbed the “Final Family Meal.”
