New York City, using a public lottery that will end at 11 a.m. Wednesday, is giving away 600 tickets to the Knicks’ championship ceremony at City Hall this week.
The ceremony, which is scheduled to start at noon on Thursday at City Hall Plaza, will follow a ticker-tape parade for the team through the Canyon of Heroes in Lower Manhattan.
Three hundred winners will be chosen from the lottery pool, with each receiving two tickets to the event, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said. Winners will be notified after the lottery closes.
There will be speeches and musical performances at the ceremony, and Mr. Mamdani will present Knicks players with keys to the city.
“The Knicks brought together New Yorkers from every borough and every walk of life,” the mayor said in a news release. “That’s why we’re making these tickets free and accessible.”
