Fans of President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again movement melted down on Wednesday after one of the president’s foes teased his “Republican takeover plan” to the media.
Rep. Thomas Massie(R-KY), who recently lost his primary election to a Trump-endorsed candidate, told TMZ DC on Wednesday that he spent time in Costa Rica with former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, and the two discussed “what life is like on the outside” of the Trump movement. He also noted that the two former Trump supporters had discussions about “where the Republican Party is going in the future,” but added that he can’t share details of that plan at this time.
“I think people want someone who is honest, doesn’t lie to them, and keeps their promises,” Massie said.
His comments sparked an uproar among the MAGA faithful on social media.
“This dude has delusions of grandeur… Gonna take the party over from Costa Rica?” Shawn Farash, a MAGA media personality, posted on X.
“Imagine being this out of touch with reality!” Vince Langman, a MAGA commentator, posted on X.
“In other words, help the Democrats stay in power forever,” Sasha Stone, a MAGA political writer, posted on X.
