Late Night Reacts to Another Reality Star Wooing Voters

Welcome to Late Night Roundup, a rundown of the previous night’s highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. Here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now.

‘Reality Villain’ for the Win

Based on results from Tuesday’s midterms, Mayor Karen Bass of Los Angeles will likely face off against a former reality star. Spencer Pratt, in November’s mayoral race.

Michael Kosta wasn’t impressed to see that Pratt “got a second-season pickup” on Wednesday’s “Daily Show.”

“A reality T.V. star running for office? Well, I’m sure if we make fun of him enough, he’ll only be in charge for 11 years, tops.” — MICHAEL KOSTA

“How did this country get so stupid? Oh, that’s right, we stopped reading books.” — MICHAEL KOSTA

“Spencer Pratt is standing up for the rights of all hard-working voters who look like ecstasy dealers. And it’s about time someone spoke for older guys who hang around college parties where no one is sure who exactly brought them.” — MICHAEL KOSTA

“Barring a late ballot buzzer-beater, it appears that Mayor Karen Bass will advance to a runoff against the former reality show villain. Sixty percent of the vote has been counted. If that holds, it means that in November, Los Angelenos will have to pick between a woman named Karen and a man who is one.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“Spencer Pratt should not be a top two finalist for mayor. He should be D. J.ing the worst New Year’s Eve party in Reno right now.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

“Now, he’s unlikely to win. And in fact, he’s already filming a reality show about his run for mayor, so he definitely has his priorities in order.” — JIMMY KIMMEL

The Punchiest Punchlines (60 Minutes Edition)

“So after firing a number of producers, CBS management also canned ‘60 Minutes’ anchor Scott Pelley. And it didn’t end there. They even terminated the ‘60 Minutes’ stopwatch.” — GREG GUTFELD

“CBS just fired longtime ‘60 Minutes’ correspondent Scott Pelley after he criticized his new bosses at the network. Yeah. The story gets more bizarre because today CBS announced they’re replacing Scott Pelley with Byron Allen.” — JIMMY FALLON

“CBS is getting more and more conservative to appease President Trump. But don’t be totally shocked when they replace ‘60 Minutes’ with the ‘Kid Rock/My Pillow Guy News Hour.’” — JIMMY FALLON

“Yeah, in the last few months, ‘60 Minutes’ has lost multiple producers and correspondents. You can tell that they got rid of a lot of people because the show is now called ‘60 Seconds.’ It’s a TikTok.” — JIMMY FALLON

“And in response to Pelley’s firing, Trump called him a stiff. Yeah, he’s not like all those other freewheeling rock star ‘60 Minutes’ correspondents we’re used to.” — JIMMY FALLON

“‘60 Minutes’ will be replaced by new episodes of ‘Reporters Unleashed.’” — JIMMY KIMMEL

The Bits Worth Watching

The “Masters of the Universe” star Alison Brie explained why she called her Evil-Lyn wig “the Larry David” on Wednesday’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

What We’re Excited About on Thursday Night

The “Scary Movie 5” star Regina Hall will appear on Thursday’s “Tonight Show.”
