The horrific shooting near a Bay Area high school killed an 18-year-old and injured three others Wednesday, including an 11-year-old child.
It is unclear whether the victim, who died at the scene, was a student. First responders transported the child and two other victims aged 20 and 25 to the hospital.
The shooting happened just after Sem Yeto High School’s commencement at Fairfield High School’s Schafer Stadium, prompting police to call it a “large-scale incident.”

Just after 8 p.m., Suisun City Mayor Alma Hernandez announced on social media that three people had been shot.
She also reported an active shooter situation at the stadium and said the investigation was ongoing.
“Kind of traumatized for everyone here who had to witness it. It’s outrageous,” Fairfield Police officer Michelle Belyea said.
“It’s sad. Prayers for everyone affected by it. I’m so sorry you had to go through that.”
The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District confirmed that law enforcement officers responded to the campus following the incident.
“Law enforcement is on campus, and as this is an active investigation we have no additional information to share at this time,” a district spokesperson said in a statement.

“Our thoughts are with the individuals affected and as soon as we have more details we will share that with you.”
Footage from a livestream reviewed by KCRA 3 showed the graduation ceremony itself and did not appear to capture any gunfire during the event.
One attendee said the shooting broke out in the parking lot after the ceremony concluded, as families and graduates gathered to take photos.
Another witness, a father whose daughter attended to support a graduating friend, said he heard gunshots and immediately started running.
Investigators have not taken anyone into custody, but have deemed there is no threat to the community.
The California Post reached out to Fairfield police for further comment.
