Alexa Demie reveals the one ‘Euphoria’ sex scene that made her uncomfortable to film: ‘I never did that again’

Alexa Demie shared that a montage of her “Euphoria” character, Maddy, having sex with multiple men made her uncomfortable to film.

Demie addressed the HBO series’ highly sexual scenes and storylines in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter published Sunday. The 35-year-old actress said that the Season 1 scene in which Maddie cheats on her boyfriend Nate (played by Jacob Elordi) with multiple men — including a stockbroker and a roller-rink employee — was unpleasant to film.

“I’m not saying I don’t love sex, and I think it can be portrayed beautifully and I know the show is portraying the life of teenage girls,” she clarified. “But once I did it, I realized, ‘OK, I don’t love how this feels.’”

“So I said something, and everyone was empathetic, and I never did that again,” she continued.

Demie admitted that she felt she had to be willing to do a lot of nudity and sex scenes to get the part of Maddy.

“I thought that if I said no to doing them, then I wouldn’t have the part,” she recalled. “Not because anyone ever said that to me, but because I was so young and I didn’t know.”

But Demie said the show’s writer and creator, Sam Levinson, listened to concerns and that her time on set was enjoyable despite the long hours.

While she did struggle personally after filming Season 2 of “Euphoria,” she put the blame on herself.

“I didn’t realize how method I was, and how seriously I was taking everything,” she explained.

“A lot went down, and things were changing within and around me, and it was a lot of purging,” she added of the tumultuous time in her life.

On Sunday — when the “Euphoria” Season 3 finale airedon HBO — Sydney Sweeney mocked critics of her character Cassie’s racy storyline this season. Sweeney, 28, posted behind-the-scenes pics of her filming, including shots of her nearly nude.

“It’s called… acting,” she pointedly captioned her post.

Sweeney’s character joined OnlyFans this season and had viewers talking due to her multiple explicit scenes, which included a raunchy sex scene with a movie star played by Richard Gere’s son, Homer Gere.

Levinson appeared on Monday’s episode of the New York Times’ podcast “Popcast,” and said Sweeney was actually in favor of baring it all for the controversial scenes — even when he gave her the option to not film nude.

Levinson said Sweeney replied, “Are you kidding? I’m playing an OnlyFans model. You’re telling me you’re going to, like, skirt around it?”
