Jill’s ‘stroke’ excuse: Letters to the Editor — June 1, 2026

The Issue: Jill Biden’s concerns over President Joe Biden’s health during the 2024 presidential debate.

Former First Lady Jill Biden now admits how alarmed she was by then-President Joe Biden’s performance during the 2024 presidential debate (“Debate ‘stroke,’ ” May 28).

She said, “I had never, ever seen Joe like that before or since.” Really? We did . . . almost every time he was in public. Imagine what he was like when the two of them were together in private.

Now “Dr. Jill” is saying she thought Sleepy Joe was having a stroke on the debate stage against President Trump. What a lying phony. Biden was a walking zombie long before that debate and his handlers knew it.

He was protected in a bubble, and the mainstream media refused to report the obvious. Admitting her fears now means nothing.

I was really surprised at Jill’s comment about Joe Biden’s performance at that presidential debate. She now says that she thought Joe was having a stroke.

After the debate ended, Jill said, “Joe, you did so good. You answered every question.” Was that the comment of a concerned wife?

Jill Biden, in trying to rev up readership for her upcoming book, “View from the East Wing,” says that she thought Joe was suffering a stroke on the night of his ill-fated debate with Trump.

If she really thought he was suffering a stroke, any other loving wife would have stepped in and stopped the debate to get her husband medical help. She never did that.

This is just another self-serving, disgusting and solely inappropriate hype to sell her book. What a disgrace the entire Biden family is, or in Joe’s case, was.

Summerville, SC

This woman is a despicable wife and a greedy First Lady. The world knew her husband was feeble. She didn’t know?

Please, he was propped up and dragged through four years of presidency to grab as much power and money for that selfish Biden family. Really, it was elder abuse and that family didn’t give a crap about the country.

It was really pathetic to see him paraded around in such obviously debilitating condition. How sad his own family didn’t protect him.

Jill Biden’s belated new excuse for her husband’s poor debate performance is that she thought he might have had a stroke while on stage. In order for me to believe that, there are a few questions I need answered.

Did she call the White House physician to examine him right after the debate was over? Was a CT scan of his brain done afterward? Or — as would be most appropriate in such circumstances — was he immediately taken to a hospital for a full medical evaluation?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then I would take her excuse a little more seriously.

However since we have heard no evidence that any of these medical concerns of hers were ever addressed I can only assume that she’s just trying to gaslight the American public and continue the charade that Joe Biden as president was not mentally compromised.

The American people are being asked to believe that Jill Biden was unaware of her husband’s obvious decline.

This comes despite months of daily coverage by the New York Post documenting President Biden’s lack of acuity, poor decision-making, forgetfulness, confusion and lack of awareness during public events.

One must wonder who is more mentally challenged, Joe or Jill.

Seymour Srulowitz

Englewood, NJ

Immediately after the hard-to-watch debate that sank Grandpa Joe’s re-election campaign, I vividly recall Jill Biden pathetically saying to her husband: “you answered every single question.”

That was equivalent to an elementary school teacher giving encouragement to one of her very slow students. No wonder the horrible optics of that blunder were excluded from DNC chair Ken Martin’s terribly detached campaign autopsy.
