Ryan Fournier, co-founder and chairman of Students for Trump, was arrested early Tuesday in Washington D.C. on domestic violence charges, marking his second assault accusation in less than two years.
The Metropolitan Police Department charged Fournier with simple assault and attempted threats to do bodily harm, following an incident Monday night at the Apartments at CityCenter.
According to police affidavits, Fournier struck a woman he had been dating for two months multiple times in the face with a closed fist after she attempted to wake him from an intoxicated state. A witness heard Fournier threaten, “Do you want me to crush your head in with this lamp?” and “Do you want to die today?” as the victim fled to the bathroom.
Police determined Fournier was the primary aggressor based on statements from the victim and two witnesses.
He pleaded not guilty and was ordered to stay away from the victim pending a July 7 hearing.
In November 2023, Fournier was arrested in North Carolina for allegedly striking his then-girlfriend with a pistol; those charges were dropped.
