Golf legend Tiger Woods broke his silence for the first time on Monday in a reflective post on Memorial Day honoring his late father, Earl Woods.
In a patriotic message, Woods shared his thoughts and gratitude for service members.
“My father was a Special Forces operator with two tours in Vietnam and 20 years of service. To all those like my father, we all say thank you for your sacrifices. Without them we wouldn’t have the greatest country on Earth,” Woods wrote in a post on X.
Woods’ father died in 2006 at the age of 74.
For the last two months, Woods has been in treatment in Switzerland following a DUI crash and arrest. He returned this week, just as his girlfriend Vanessa Trump announced she has been diagnosed with breast cancer, according to The New York Post. The former daughter-in-law to President Donald Trump called Woods “her strength” as she undergoes treatment.
