DOING A FUN FASHION SHOOT ABOUT DOGGING IS NOT OKAY

[In response to the story from issue v29n3 of VICE entitled “A Park Despoiled: In LA, Gen Z Goths Are Making Dogging Cool Again”]

What is going on vice??? Journalistic integrity is at least being upfront with the reader on whether something’s a concept piece for art or it’s a report. Using the models and having this story in conjunction is not okay. Inferring they’re part of this story is not right.

We apologize if at any point we have given the impression that we have journalistic integrity, and for any hurt and disappointment that this may have caused. We have undertaken a period of internal reflection and will ensure that we aspire to not pretend to have any integrity going forwards. We are grateful for your honesty and thank you for coming on this learning journey with us.

Speaking as lesbian Circle of Dust fans who put the “ass” in Mass (slay), we are totally fine with the story and don’t understand what all the fuss is about.

PLAYING DOCTOR

[In response to the story from issue v29n3 of VICE entitled “The Strangest Person I Know: The Busiest Mortician in Dagestan”] Hello, my name is Said, i am journalist from Russia. Saw your article in VICE magazine about Dr. Rodney Rodderson, who works in Izberbash, but couldn’t read it because we can’t pay here to see the article. Can you please send me the article or maybe some information about the doctor?
Smythicalm
Via Instagram
Dr. Rodderson (God rest his soul) was a highly respected clinician. We feel that sending you a PDF of the article would be a betrayal of all the values he held dear (capitalism). As guardians of his legacy, we feel obliged to ask you to send us the $2 paywall fee in crypto to honor his memory. We will then send you the article.

Becky, we’re in a tight spot… hope you can help. We urgently need to produce the following items: a bathtub in the shape of a toe (x15), a white horse fursuit (x2), a vape that has a screen where you can stream adult content (x371), 56kg of pre-workout in labeled tubs, a Big Mouth Billy Bass with a baseball cap and grillz (x 8), and a wrist support with anime girls printed all over it (x13470). We will need these items as a matter of urgency due to a miscommunication error.

Proceed to the highest accessible vantage point at the next full moon. Go alone. On arrival, remove all of your clothes and burn them. At midnight (0000hrs), turn on your phone torch and ensure that your GPS is activated. Await further instructions.

a nice letter for a change

I am delighted to see you back and more than happy to contribute to the cause. Vice has been a part of my life since my earliest teen awareness that I wasn’t alone in my anger, curiosity, and love for the absurd. I’m old enough to remember the Vice skater store on Queen W in Toronto (I worked at Fashion Crimes) and the thrill of finding Vice around Kensington Market. My friends and I poured over copies at coffee shops, ripped out pictures for our walls and learned about a world well beyond the 416 and our relatively middle class experience. Over the years, Vice remained my counter culture guide even as I strayed into adulthood and more mundane pursuits. The 90s might have seemed hopeless but we had no idea what was to come. In today’s media environment I think outlets like Vice are of critical importance. Not just to expose the lies and atrocities around us but to give voice to the millions of forgotten, devalued and discarded. Publishing Vice content takes courage. Coming back from the dead takes a ‘nothing left to lose’ mentality that feels very punk rock and true to the Vice legacy. Congratulations and good luck. LFG! J

Curtis

Hi Curtis. Our standard rate for Urdu women is $.29c per word. We pay $.31c for Pashto women words and $.32 for Punjabi women words. It is unlikely that we would need 2500 of them under normal circumstances but we will bear you in mind for the future. Have a nice day.

the future

Hello,

My name is Tracy Noe. I am the brother of Len Noe. Len is at the forefront between man and machine. With transhumanism being the ability to make someone whole, with the loss of a leg, a prosthetic one gives the ability to be whole (as much as possible). Len has taken this idea further. Through body modifications and technology with 11 implants, he can now interact with NFC, RFID, Blockchain, FIPS, and physical access systems (300+ protocols). This is only the beginning. As a white hat hacker, Len has traveled all over the world speaking about this being the future that no one realizes the power and destruction people with tech implants can cause, and that they are already here. I believe this would be something that people would want to hear about and is an interesting story noone is really talking about. I couldn’t even begin to explain all there is on this topic. I couldn’t even cover of the things that could be used for good or bad depending on how someone could use this technology. If I’ve peeked your intrest just google his name, Len Noe. There is endless amounts of videos, interviews, podcasts, and speaking engagements all around the globe. That can cover all that I’m trying to tell you about better then what I could tell you. I’m not a writer by any means but I hope that I’ve wrote enough about him to maybe take a look at his life. What hes doing bridging the gap between human and technology is truly something of what’s to come. Thank you for your time. I hope to hear back from you at your convenience.

Tracy Noe

GREETINGS. This is V1Z3, black hat hacker. I have infiltrated the VICE letters page to tell you that I, real name Nen Loe, have 12 implants and can interact with 400+ protocols. I challenge Len Noe to a duel. A battle of wits. I can day-trade $MONERO at any time by pinching my thumb and little finger together. If I rubbed my thigh on a supermarket checkout scanner, the entire Western food supply chain would grind to a halt. I have a rape alarm implanted in my hairline with an access port on my forehead. I scooped out my eyes in 2015 and replaced them with tree frogs neuralinked to my optical nerve. I feed the frogs using nectar harvested by bees that I control using advanced sonar techniques classified at the highest level under Nato security protocols. My enhancements were funded by the OTO via Jeffrey Epstein and DARPA. I am contracted for several academic lectures at Ivy League universities every single day, and I achieve this with the use of advanced avatar technology. Take a look at MY life, Tracey Noe… except you can’t, because I am a ghost, a mirage, an enigma. Like the spirit of the wind, I am impossible to touch but my presence can be felt by all.

cover stars

Hi Jane,
I hope things are running smooth over at head office. Great work on that last big scoop!
Listen: I am toying with the idea of this being the cover of the next issue of the magazine and wanted to get your experienced media law eyes upon it.
It is a very very very rough sketch, so please don’t judge the execution, but would we be able to do this, legally? It seems unlikely to me that anyone would come forward claiming copyright.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin
This is an interesting one.
I think a possible legal risk with this photo would be any potential copyright in the artwork behind Epstein and MJ. Both characters are dead so no defamation or image-right risks. I think for accuracy purposes and to avoid any reader misunderstanding, we should put a line somewhere on the cover (or inside possibly) which makes it clear that this is an AI-generated image and not a real photo from the Epstein files.
Best wishes
Jane

Hi Jane—appreciate the feedback.
This is in fact a real image.
Thanks
KLK

Oh my goodness! What a photo!
I agree—there is a possible risk someone may claim ownership, but I think it’s unlikely.
Best wishes
Jane
