Two EMTs were nearly killed helping a teenager who had been shot in the Bronx when their ambulance was struck by gunfire, according to police and fire officials.
Police and FDNY EMS responded to a reported shooting at the Butler Houses on Webster Avenue in Claremont and found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen around 12:15 a.m.
While at the scene, an FDNY ambulance was shot at and suffered damages to rear and front windshields, according to officials and images from the scene.

Two FDNY EMTs were inside the parked ambulance at the time but were miraculously not struck, ABC 7 reported.
Both were taken to a local hospital with non-serious injuries for evaluation, police and fire officials said.
No other injuries were reported.
The 18-year-old shooting victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
