‘Omg’: SNL jolts viewers with Trump-Epstein skit that ‘MAGA will hate’

Saturday Night Live’s season finale featured a controversial sketch in which actor Will Ferrell played Jeffrey Epstein’s ghost, drawing widespread attention for a dark joke about the financier’s prison death.

In the sketch, Ferrell’s Epstein character delivers a punchline that references his disputed 2019 death in federal custody. When a character playing Donald Trump raises his hand for a high-five, Epstein responds: “You know, this time, I’m gonna leave YOU hanging.”

The joke plays on the official narrative surrounding Epstein’s death, which authorities ruled a suicide by hanging, while also alluding to Trump’s well-documented association with Epstein decades earlier, before their falling out.

The sketch prompted immediate reaction on social media, with viewers expressing shock at SNL’s willingness to tackle such sensitive material. BuzzFeed’s Spencer Althouse shared the exchange online along with an “omg” assessment.

“omg Will Ferrell is playing Jeffrey Epstein on the SNL season finale, and this joke about his ‘suicide’… Donald Trump, raising his hand for a high-five: Give me some! Jeffrey Epstein: You know, this time, I’m gonna leave YOU hanging,” he wrote.

Liberal commentator Brian Krassenstein chimed in, “LOL!! Will Ferrell plays Epstein on the SNL season finale. Love it.”

Democratic influencer Harry Sisson also shared the video and highlighted a different clip from the same Epstein skit, this one showing the president laughing about child abuse along with Epstein, writing, “SNL just did a segment with Will Ferrell as Jeffrey Epstein, Trump’s best friend, and it was hilarious. MAGA will hate this.”
