Victim exposed by Epstein file flub comes forward with new fears about Ghislaine Maxwell

‘Disgusting’: Ex-employee spills how far prison went to give Ghislaine Maxwell cushy life

An Epstein survivor whose name was inadvertently exposed in Justice Department files is living in fear that a potential Trump pardon of Ghislaine Maxwell could put her life in danger — and is questioning whether Maxwell is actually incarcerated following her conviction.

In WhatsApp conversations with journalist Josie Ensor of The Times in the United Kingdom, the woman — identified as “Francesca” to protect her identity — recalled the psychological manipulation tactics Maxwell used to recruit her into the sex-trafficking ring when she was just 15 years old in the 1990s.

Francesca described how Maxwell initially presented herself as a caring mentor figure, using friendship, money, gifts, and career promises to lure vulnerable teenage girls. “She was my friend, my mom, my sister, my mentor,” Francesca said of Maxwell. “The pain of the betrayal from Ghislaine is something I still can’t wrap my head around to this day.”

What made Maxwell particularly terrifying, Francesca said, was her emotional intelligence and deliberate manipulation. “Jeffrey was evil; he was a psychopath who had no empathy. But Ghislaine could understand people’s emotions, see their pain. That, in my mind, made her far worse, and far scarier,” she said.

Maxwell had explicitly demonstrated her power and reach to Francesca. “Ghislaine once asked me what I thought Epstein did and she told me, ‘He makes very important decisions for the world with very important people.’ Every important decision in the world Jeffrey is a part of. It was all about making clear to me that she and Epstein had the power to control what happens to me,” Francesca recounted.

Francesca has been living under the assumption of anonymity for decades, having married, started a family, and built a new life. She was devastated to discover that the Department of Justicehad failed to redact her name in the released Epstein files — violating its promised protection of survivors, she told The Times.

The exposure has triggered her deepest fears about Maxwell’s reach and influence, and that she may be targeted because of what she knows. Maxwell is currently held in minimum security following intervention by now-acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, raising questions about potential clemency considerations.

The report noted that Francesca’s terror is compounded by a profound distrust of official narratives surrounding both Epstein and Maxwell. She has begun questioning whether Maxwell is actually in prison and whether Epstein is truly dead.

“I feel like Ghislaine is going to get out, if she’s still even in, and at this point I don’t trust anything around both Jeffrey and Ghislaine’s situations, knowing how much power over people and situations they have,” Francesca said via text message.

After Epstein’s death, Francesca was pressured by the NYPD and FBI to testify but refused, fearing Maxwell would see her face. “I didn’t want her to see my face while she was still alive on the earth. I never did speak,” she said.
