President Donald Trump’s administration released its 2026 U.S. Counterterrorism Strategy on Tuesday, pledging to target what it characterized as “violent secular political groups.”
The document states the administration will “prioritize the rapid identification and neutralization of violent secular political groups whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist.”
Trump wrote that, as part of his commitment to “defending America from all enemies, foreign and domestic,” the administration is “once again working to crush the threat of terrorism.”
The strategy outlines plans to “use all the tools constitutionally available to us to map them at home, identify their membership, map their ties to international organizations like Antifa, and use law enforcement tools to cripple them operationally before they can maim or kill the innocent.”
The approach positions secular and transgender-rights groups alongside cartels and Islamist terror organizations as counterterrorism priorities.
