President Donald Trump befuddled political analysts and observers on Monday during his speech in the Rose Garden.
Trump gave a short speech during a dinner event at the White House that was attended by several cabinet officials, like Vice President JD Vance, as well as fans of his MAGA movement. During the speech, Trump seemed to make a staggering admission that left some observers’ jaws on the floor.
“We have a man who is doing a great job. I knew it, because he kept me out of jail for years,” Trump said. “Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. He kept me out of jail. They would indict me left and right, the crooked Democrats.”
Political analysts and observers reacted to Trump’s comments on social media.
“Wow, talk about consciousness of guilt,” writer Andy Ostroy posted on X. “One should be kept out of jail because one never committed a crime, not because one has a crafty lawyer.”
“Uh….” actress Morgan Fairchild posted on X.
“Please, can’t someone take this senile old man off to beddy bye?” retired lawmaker Linda Higgins posted on X.
“Sounds like a criminal to me,” journalist Mark Wright posted on Bluesky.
“JFC. Good news though, maybe in 3 years we start fixing it, maybe. If the dorks don’t f— it up,” Andrew Sowards, a former criminal investigator, posted on Bluesky.
