NFL makes decision on disciplining Mike Vrabel after Dianna Russini photo scandal

Mike Vrabel will not face an internal conduct review as part of the league’s personal conduct policy after photos of him and Dianna Russini were published by Page Six.

NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said the NFL is not looking into the New England Patriots head coach’s behavior as part of its personal conduct policy, which states players, coaches and executives are required to avoid “conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in the National Football League,” according to a Friday report from ESPN.

The NFL and the Patriots did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

Vrabel, 50, recently came under fire after he and Russini were seen holding hands and hugging in photos published by Page Six earlier this month.

The pair — who are both married to other people — visited luxury boutique resort Ambiente in Sedona, Arizona.

A Page Six spy claimed the pair spent the day together on March 28, joining each other for breakfast on the hotel restaurant, before lounging together by the pool and the hot tub.

They were later seen hugging on the private rooftop of their hotel bungalow.

At one point, the eyewitness told us they saw the duo dancing together.

In response to the photos, Vrabel told us in a statement: “These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable. This doesn’t deserve any further response.”

Russini, 43, added in her own separate statement, “The photos don’t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day. Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues.”

Still, Russini resigned from her position with the Athletic amid an internal investigation in light of the drama.

“When the Page Six item first appeared, The Athletic supported me unequivocally, expressed confidence in my work and pride in my journalism. For that I am grateful,” she wrote in a letter.

“In the days that followed, unfortunately, commentators in various media have engaged in self-feeding speculation that is simply unmoored from the facts.”

Russini continued, explaining that she chose to leave her job to stop the ongoing speculation and damage inflicted by the ordeal.
