91-year-old who sparked wellness check was just playing video games

She’s still got game.

A 91-year-old woman sparked concerns earlier this month after she did not answer her phone, prompting a wellness check.

When police arrived at her Ohio home, they learned she was safe in her bedroom — busy trying to beat her top score in a video game.

The unnamed nonagenarian is enrolled in the town of Westlake’s daily automated wellness check call service for seniors who live alone.

On the evening of April 9, she alarmed the dispatcher when she didn’t answer multiple consecutive calls, triggering the check.

Her daughter was then alerted — who said her mother should have been home at that hour.

Less than 10 minutes later, cops arrived at the elderly woman’s door, and she still didn’t answer, so they accessed her residence through the garage.

Once inside, the dispatcher got a call from one of the officers, who said:

“We’re with her now. She’s playing video games in her bedroom.”

“Turned out to be all OK,” Westlake police Capt. Jerry Vogel told KLTV.

“Everyone got a good laugh out of it.”
