A former Fox News host said on Monday that President Donald Trump is raising “huge red flags” about the upcoming election.
Gretchen Carlson, who left Fox News in 2016, joined CNN’s Erin Burnett on “OutFront” on Monday to talk about some of the latest news coming out of the Trump administration. During the conversation, Carlson brought up a New York Times report that Trump personally called FBI agents working on the ground during a raid of the Fulton County, Georgia, election office last week. She said the reporting about the raid and the “rah-rah” conversation Trump had with the agents caught her attention.
“You remember that Pam Bondi, the attorney general, in a letter to the Minnesota officials last week, said, ‘If you just hand over your voter records to me, maybe I will go away.’ Those are huge red flags to me that something is going on with the midterm elections,” Carlson said.
Last week, Trump’s FBI raided the Fulton County election office and seized all materials, physical and digital, related to the 2020 general election. Trump has repeatedly claimed that he won the election despite losing more than 60 court cases related to the election results.
Trump also infamously called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and demanded that he find 11,780 votes to deliver Trump a victory in Georgia, a recording that calls into question whether Trump truly believes he won the election.
