MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough exploded at Republicans Monday for their ongoing defense of the Trump administration immigration enforcement operations in the wake of a startling incident in Minnesota where an American citizen was chased by car, blocked in and violently dragged out of her vehicle.
The incident in question occurred last Thursday when a Minnesota woman who had been tracking the movements of federal immigration agents was chased by car. Agents ultimately boxed her car in, exited their vehicles with weapons drawn, and violently dragged her out of her vehicle, leaving her with “cuts, scrapes and bruises.”
The woman, who did not want to be identified, recorded the entire incident on video, in which she can be heard speaking with someone by phone and asking them to call law enforcement.
“Get trained! Get trained before you draw your gun, you idiot!” Scarborough shouted as he watched video of the incident.
“And what is she doing? Is she calling Antifa, Fox News? No, she’s not calling Antifa, she’s calling the police, begging the police to come save her from what looks like a paramilitary legal force let loose on the streets of America to shoot Americans! To terrorize Americans on the streets! “
Scarborough also chastised one of the immigration agents for stepping in front of the woman’s vehicle with their gun drawn, much like Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer Jonathan Ross had done before fatally shooting Minnesota woman Renee Good last month.
A leaked memo has since revealed that ICE agents were warned last November about stepping in front of vehicles, with immigration enforcement officers having a documented history of “intentionally” stepping in front of vehicles to “justify using deadly force.”
The Minnesota woman was arrested by the federal immigration agents, but reportedly was spared from incarceration due to the intervention of the local police chief.
“She’s not asking to defund the police, she’s asking to be saved from these thugs by the police who don’t know what they’re doing!” Scarborough shouted, referencing the Trump administration’s tendency to paint those arrested, harmed or killed by immigration agents as deranged left-wing radicals.
“This is so out of control, and it looks like a paramilitary force from the third world! And so [the] police chief – not Antifa, Republicans, not Antifa, liars on the right – she calls the police to ask for help in America from paramilitary-type officers. It’s disgusting!”
