Alleged MS-13 gangbanger accused of killing 5 in El Salvador busted in Virginia: report

An alleged MS-13 thug accused of slaying five rival gang members in his native El Salvador was busted by ICE in Virginia, Department of Homeland Security sources told Fox News Digital.

Edwin Antonio Hernandez — known by the aliases “Demente” and “Crazy” — was nabbed by federal agents on Dec. 31 in Alexandria for being in the country illegally after US Citizenship and Immigration Services flagged his case to ICE, the DHS insiders told the outlet.

The 27-year-old, who illegally entered the US in 2015, allegedly admitted to participating in five brutal killings of rival 18th Street gang members back in El Salvador, including one victim who was reportedly dismembered while still alive.

In two of the grisly killings, the gangbanger allegedly told federal agents he shot members of the 18th Street Gang, also known as Barrio 18, in the chest and head, sources told Fox News.

In another heinous incident, Hernandez allegedly said MS-13 tortured an adversary, stabbing him twice in the chest before chopping him up while he was still breathing.

The 18th Street Gang is one of Central America’s largest and most violent criminal networks. Last year, it was branded a Foreign Terrorist Organization, a designation MS-13 also shares.

The accused killer illegally crossed into the US near Hidalgo, Texas, in June 2015, according to a USCICS report obtained by the outlet.

He was reportedly caught by Border Patrol but later released during immigration court proceedings.

Hernandez was accused of remaining in the US without a proper visa and illegal entry during his December arrest, the report showed.

The DHS and ICE did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
