EXCLUSIVE: EbonyLife Group has officially launched its digital platform EbonyLife ON Plus globally. From today, the African platform, which blends entertainment, learning, fashion and live experiences, will be available via the App Store and Google Play.
EbonyLife CEO Mo Abudu calls the service “a complete lifestyle ecosystem” that is built around five experience pillars dubbed ‘Watch It’, ‘Learn It,’ ‘Shop It’, ‘Win It and ‘Live It’. Members of the digital service will be able to watch original films and series, take part in curated masterclasses, shop African fashion and art, enjoy exclusive rewards and participate in real-life events, all within one digital destination.
Films set to be featured on the service include Idris Elba’s Lagos-set short film Dust to Dreams, starring Seal, as well the film’s companion documentary Dust to Dreams: Behind the Scenes, directed by Isioma Osaje.
Additional projects available on the service include Her Perfect Life and Iyawo Mi, both of which Abudu wrote and directed, which explore complex themes of identity, mental health and the realities behind personal success. EbonyLife TV’s limited series Baby Farm, which explores the dark realities of human trafficking in Lagos and launched on Netflix earlier this year, will also be available on the platform.
Further projects include Kayode Kasum’s Nollywood family drama Ajosepo, which premiered in cinemas last year and will be exclusively available on EbonyLife ON Plus and Black, Brilliant & Bold, which celebrates Black women who rise, lead and inspire such as Angélique Kidjo, Ayra Starr, Dr. Ngozi Okonojo-Iweala, President Sahle-Work Zewde, Mayor Karen Bass and Mellody Hobson.
Abudu’s podcasts Moments with Mo and Mo & Ted will also feature heavily on the service along with What Women Really Think, which looks to explore topics such as love, desire, power, career and identity.
Additionally the Mo Abudu Masterclass Series will launch with ‘Purpose, Passion and Vision’, a monthly session guiding members to align goals with meaning and impact. Members will also gain access to ELEV8, an AI-driven tool offering more than 5,000 videos to learn skills, explore culture, and discover new opportunities.
“EbonyLife ON plus puts African stories back in African hands,” said Abudu. “We pride ourselves on being more than a streaming platform. This is a space that celebrates every dimension of African creativity, from the stories we tell, to the way we live, learn and connect. That said, we also have an incredible lineup of content that will keep our members entertained every month.”
She continued: “It is a platform designed to inspire, empower and connect while ensuring that the economic and cultural benefits of storytelling remain on the continent.”
