A man was seen hanging out of a window during a standoff in which he was throwing items around, police say.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called out to the 12300 block of Hart Street around 12:51 a.m. after it was reported a person entered an apartment building and started throwing things, a department spokesperson confirmed.
Reports from the scene indicate that the man was throwing things off a balcony; however, the spokesperson did not confirm if that was the case or if the items were thrown around inside.
Video captured by KTLA photojournalist Dan Lunsford shows the man sitting on an upper story windowsill, with one half of his body out of the window. He was there for at least a minute, according to the footage, before he decided to climb back inside.
According to LAPD, after initially refusing to come out, the man was taken into custody. He was seen being taken into an ambulance by wheelchair.
It is unclear whether the man will be charged with any crime.
It was also not immediately clear whether the man lived in the building or what items he was throwing.
Additionally, whether he struck anyone was not disclosed.
